Sunday
Christianity & Culture, 9:15 am, Parish Hall, starts

This Sunday adult Christian Education offering is planned and coordinated by
The Rev. Dr. Thomas Litzenburg.

Lectionary Bible Study Class, 9:30 am, Library
Starts August 22
This class follows the church lectionary readings for each Sunday (the Common
Lectionary printed in our bulletins and shared with several other
denominations). Beginning with the Collect (the printed opening prayer in the
bulletin), we read aloud and briefly discuss each reading from Scripture,
noticing as we move through the readings the deep themes of the texts as they
relate to each other, the season of the church year and to our lives of faith.
No preparation required to participate. The class is facilitated by Joan Millon
and Jamie Smith. All are welcome!

EfM
(Education for Ministry)
Education for Ministry (EfM), a four-year program of theological education
at-a-distance, will begin its fall session here on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m.
in the Library. As the emphasis on lay ministry has grown, the EfM program has
played a crucial role in developing theologically informed, knowledgeable lay
leaders. The program is sponsored by the University of the South and since its
inception in 1975, more than 60,000 people have participated. If you’re
interested in becoming a part of this group, contact Sharon Massie, mentor, for
more information.
